Good review redsky. I can't agree that these guys supposedly own 2009; they will never top 0:12 Revolution in Just Listerning. They simply smack you in the face and run on that album while this and Ox meander all over the place, making it a little difficult for me to hear any cohesiveness in their sound. Sure it sounds great to some people but I need some focus.

I think the interludes mixed with the demonized blues influence on the Ox releases makes it very cohesive

And that country and western intro with slide guitar? I like that description of demonized blues riffs hahahaha.

Redsky/Wizard, I couldn't agree more. I love the country, spaghetti Western/Blues interludes that they do on this and the LP. I

think they really add to the album. I loved the LP for a while now, but I just bought the EP the other day. And man, I think

Coalesce still have it. Wizard, 0:12 is fucking great, but the OX and the OX ep have been winning my heart over.

0:12 will always be my favorite, but I definitely agree about the Americana influences on the OX records, they add a lot and differentiate them from the rest of Coalesce's discography.

Yeah, I mean. 0:12 will always be fucking awesome. I mean, the way the record starts just gives you a black eye. Sean Ingram's scream is so good and no one else sounds like him. But yeah, I don't know, I think it is the new influences that grab my attention mixes it in with their awesome style.

the production is the main thing that bugs me about the OX records, it's so damn fuzzy and bass heavy. I think that's what they were going for, but it almost grates my ears at times. Dead Is Dead is so money though.

let's not forget Functioning on Impatience, it begins and ends with their 2 best songs.

Functioning's pretty much equal with 0:12 for me, it's just that I heard 0:12 first, so it's got that sentimental value, y'know?

Anyone's Ghost rules by the way...

Yeah, all Coalesce is awesome. But yeah, I am a fan of fuzzy and bass heavy if it makes sense for the music, and on these albums, it did makes sense to me.

This is the perfect compliment to OX. It expands on the Americana influence beautifully.
