How anyone could construe Frankenstein as their best is beyond my ability to comprehend

Even if you've only heard their worst two albums, that isn't their best

between the new National and new Beach House being two of the firmest duds of the yr, I am jumping this ship and hitting up the new Yune Pinku post-haste

Ignoring your undeniable hateboner for Beach House, that EP is significantly better than this popcorn fart from the National. At least it sounds like they still care about music.

Lol. Guess we're using this thread to flippantly bash the new record. It's actually really good.

Agree with most of the comments about the new one. Not that surprised and had tempered my expectations, but was still pretty disappointing. Favs are T-Shirt, This Isn't Helping, Tropic Morning News, Ice Machines, and Your Mind is Not Your Friend on first listen, 3 of which were singles.

Like Boney I'll slap a stockholm syndrome 3 rating on there. I hover between 3.5 and 4 for IAEtF, but for all it's faults at least had a few great tracks that lived up to their classic period. This just sounds like mainstream wimpy indie folk too much of the time, and those features are a joke with what wastes they are.

I thought Berninger's lyrics were lower quality on IAEtF but this one takes it another level lower. I also get the vibe someone mentioned that they're acting like a legacy band now and kinda going through the motions since the Dessners have been busy with other things.

Just the first 60 seconds of ‘Swallow the Cap’ from TWFM is better than this entire new album let’s come back to reality

New album is the pits, makes the new Metallica look like Mozart
