Much of the first half was unmemorable for me when I first became a fan of this band, and just loved the last 5 tracks basically. but the past few years I've grown to really love each one on here, though the chorus of Astronauts still sounds weird to me and not quite right.

I absolutely adore the chorus to Astronauts.
Honestly I might have to 5 this one. I've only grown to enjoy it more with time.

The instrumental chorus of Looking for Astronauts is really pretty by itself, but with his vocals and in the context of the rest of the song sounds awkward and not right to me idk, same with my friend who got me into the band in the first place like 5 years ago convinced me about Astronauts. Still a really good song tho and that chorus is pretty. He can't stand Crown of Love on Funeral tho so he might be loopy.

as a side note, the Dessner brothers wrote a gorgeous score for a movie called Big Sur, and I can't find it anywhere, so if anyone has a rip, I'd be extremely grateful and will send you flowers and chocolates etc.

Its been about 10 years since I first heard All the Wine and I still remember how insanely blown away I was by it. I had never heard of the band before, and it was the first song of theirs I jammed because it came up on their Myspace page. I remember thinking it sounded like a cross between U2 and David Bowie.

It's only just above average for me, never liked the 'I'm so sorry for everything' vocal and the whole arrangement isn't a favourite.
Still, I do like the way every song on every one of their albums has its fans.

'All the Wine' I'd always dismissed as a pretty unmemorable album cut...only later I found out that it is considered such an important song and much beloved.
I like it, but I still can't really see what the fuss is about. 'Geese' destroys it.
