world painted blood is actually pretty good has more variation in style compared to christ illusion.I wouldn't say one a lot better than the other perhaps a different theme in the slayer catalog.

Slayer wrote Reign In Blood, South of Heaven, Hell Awaits, Seasons and Show No Mercy. They are allowed to write World Painted Blood.
But seriously, it's not THAT bad of an album, bad would be Diabolus. This is just an average Slayer release and this album has enough good songs to outweigh the mediocre-bad songs

I didn't mind Slayer's 2 previous post 2000 offerings God Hates US All and Christ illusion. In fact I really enjoyed Christ illusion. But for some damn reason this album just doesn't click 100% with me. I definitely think Psychopathy Red is the fastest, heaviest thing Slayer has recorded since the 80's and is one of the albums best but it's just too jit and miss with this album. Oh well I guess.
