I think it depends on the mood i'm in if I like the original or Johnny Cash's version better. I find it really neat how Cash took something so dissonant, made it melodic, and still managed to retain a similar depressing atmosphere

Reznor said himself it didn't even sound like his own song, but he meant that in the best way possible. He said an artist from a totally different era/genre reinterpreted it and made it different but every bit as pure.
