Album is a little overrated imo, but it's still great. I really love the album art for some reason.

He knows his brutal death I guess but no, he wasn't starting controversy, he was responding to Thor saying in his review that their breakdowns were like Suffocation's.
Thanks for the clarification hahaha.
Looking forward to that interview with Greg.

People who label Red Chord as deathcore are idiots. These guys have a lot more substance than any deathcore band around, and I think they write extremely brutal music. Especially, for one guitar player taking on the album, these guys can write some good shit. If anyone thinks that they are a deathcore band, I would like to take some time and argue that one out because that is just ridiculous.

yeah, They more fit technical death metal...but they're way better than some of those bands too. Truly Amazing!!

People who label them as deathcore are correct. It doesn't matter that the label comes with a stigma, or that they don't sound like other deathcore bands. The fact remains that their sound is largely a mix of death metal and hardcore (sometimes metalcore, sometimes grindcore). So yes, you could take time to argue it, but you'd be wasting it. You'd be wrong regardless. Even Guy has said they're, by definition, a deathcore band. The problem is that most bands associated with the movement don't technically fit the bill--it's a stigma much like what Metalcore was met with years ago.

pow pow!
yep they are deathcore. Being a deathcore band doesn't mean they automatically suck, even though the majority of the genre does. This is the only Red Chord i have, where to next?

When you put that into perspective, it makes more sense. I just hate when core gets lumped on a genre unless they truly mix hardcore in their music. I mean, for them to be considered the same genre as White Chapel, you know...but that is how the story goes.

whitechapel has its own genre called threethousandguitaristscore

So pleased with this, so consistent and with some brilliant fretboard acrobatics on behalf of Gunface. Hour of Rats solo FTW.
