man i was playing this sourced from my laptop and i just couldn't enjoy it. turn up loud enough and it's just too shrill, fuck. decided to say fuck it and take out the 12" and switch to my turntable, ahhhhh it's a fucking relief. i really hate the digital v. vinyl war but in practice it's just nicer sounding. maybe the rolled off treble just allows you to turn it up loud enough to enjoy the lower end without the treble being shrill.

So I was gonna listen to this but then I realized it's one of those annoying albums with serveral quite different tracklists so I figured I'd ask the experts before diving in: Which is the definitive tracklisting for this album?

there's the original version (with flicker)
UK version released one year later ( sans flicker and love is blindness, adds vapour trail)
then there's a reissue from 2015 which adds some more tracks (notably anchor), changes up tracklist
i can't listen to the album without vapour trail so i'd say the 2003 UK version or 2015 version

Hmmmm this is tough. Let’s get some more votes in here. I will say I already went out of my way to download the “Flicker” version (and it was kind of a a pain in the ass too) so I’m a bit more inclined to try that atm but let’s get a few more opinions in here.

I've only ever jammed the 2003 version so that's canon for me but I'd vibe you going with the other one for the hell of it. Just my intuition talking (plus Vapour Trail isn't exactly a highlight imo sorry budg)

The original “Vapour Trail” is a 5/5 song so I have a hard time imagining the version here is better.
Seriously though it’s suuuuuuuch a pain in the ass when bands do this, one of my biggest pet peeves in music tbh.
