No mention of Lars Doing the high pitch growls makes me a sad panda, especially cause on Consciousness Eaters I almost prefer him to Christian. It's like half the time Lars sounds amazing as a replacement, then sometimes its like wtf? Anyway, I like this album simply because lets be honest... Christian was a studio only performer, in no way could he reproduce his talent live considering nearly ALL of holograph Universe was at least double, if not triple dubbed. At least the new guys can live up to their studio sound for the most part.

I really like holographic universe for it's accessibility, but this new album was a big dissappointment. The new vocalists weren't that bad, but it's horribly ironic that two vocalists can't overlap and sing together half as good as Christian could with himself...

I'm going to check out Katatonia and Seance, but does anyone have any other recommendations for good, recent melodic death metal? I'm kinda new to the scene. I've checked out the well knowns like in flames and dark tranquility, but I'm having a hard time finding more recent stuff with cleaner production values, if that makes sense. >.>;

Katatonia is NOT melodic death.

Check out Arghoslent, Be'Lakor, Garden Of Shadows, Insomnium, Kalmah, Skyfire, and Torchbearer.

excellent album! i'm glad nothing has changed, with every other bands changing sounds has much as they are changing their underwear these days, i'm glad these guys stuck to what they do best and as they say: if it ain't broke...

Nooo don't check out insomnium. They're like a more melodramatic Dark Tranquillity, if that's possible.
