Nah this alb is melodic metalcore to a T. In the Eyes of Fire is definitely more along the lines of melodic thrash.

which raises another question: are melodic metalcore and NWOAHM just the same thing

Melodic metalcore I thought focused much more on cleans being throughout the album which Unearth hardly does at all

Adam D does quite a few vocal parts on this album. Besides that yea they never do cleans
Melodic doesn't necessarily mean more cleans either, just more pretty guitar parts and softer sections basically lol

Adam D? You mean Ken Susi?
Calling this melodic metalcore seems far too diminishing of this perfection.

Doesn't Ken just do the cleans live? The studio cleans here sound exactly like Adam, but I could be wrong.

He sounds the same live as he does on Endless and Watch it Burn on the albums.
I'm not gonna sit here and say that it's impossible that I didn't know Adam recorded the cleans on Endless but I fanboyed this band pretty damn hard and feel like I'd remember that.

@Guy hell you'd know more than me man. I just started getting into this band recently, but as soon as I heard Endless I immediately went "that's Adam D" him and Ken have very similar cleans if that's the case.

Liner notes say Ken did backing vocals on Endless and Lie to Purify. Though apparently John also provided some vocals, which I didn't know / forgot.
To be honest, I had forgotten Adam produced it. Shouldn't be surprised, he had his hands all over early 2000s metalcore. That was a very special time for live music. There's just no comparison to anything else I've seen, a sea of captivated participants at every, single, one. Bands jumping from tour to tour, relentlessly hitting every city they could. I saw A Life Once Lost in those days at least seven times I can think of, without ever going to a show specifically for them. Same thing seemed to happen with Haste the Day / Every Time I Die and Throwdown.

i remember that show battle for ozzfest (despite being clearly scripted) and the winner had a pretty decent band, their debut album had some bangers
