say what you want about their music but from the War to Achtung Baby period, they were easily one of the best live acts of all time, their connection with the audience was ridiculous

Yeah Bono can get pretty intense and in-your-face live with that stuff

and say what you will about their music nowadays, but they can still put on a damn fantastic live show. Saw them for 360 as well as last year's tour, and they were each great

I'm sure they can still pull a hell of a spectacle but I think the days of "Fuck the revolution" and Bono dancing in the middle of Bad are over

sadly true
Bullet live still manages to give me chills though
time will never give that song less material to work with, sadly

"that live in Santiago clip where Bono brings up a bunch of moms holding pictures of their lost sons and they all diss Pinochet is like"
That shit's intense as hell. Sadly I was only 3yo at the time of that concert, I would've loved to be in there. Really looking forward for a new U2 concert in Santiago

according to setlist.fm they haven't even played that 10 times live since the 90s so good luck
stranger things have happened though I suppose

Yeah apparently it's too emotional for them to play which given the context of the song's writing I can understand
also likely that they would rather play their new bland as balls material for most of the sets

they're releasing new album this year
so excited

hopefully theyll give it out for free again. songs of innocence is not an album id ever pay for (thought it was terrible)
but the stuff i like from these guys i absolutely adore, so hopefully ill catch em on tour. though i think their two most recent albums are bad, i do really dig these guys.
maybe the new album will be good

Songs of Innocence is easily among my least favorite releases of theirs for sure, but the setup/tracklist of the tour they did for it made for their best conceptual show since Popmart and was definitely worth seeing. Hopefully that won't change too much seeing as a lot of talk for the new one hinted at it being a companion album to SoI.
