Oscillations sounds like it was created last month with a guy in his early 30's and it still blows my mind.

found this shit on the side of a street, only to find out that it's pretty damn expensive to get in the condition I have it. Best "blind" find to me.

this album is all over the place in terms of influence
found an original press of this on the side of the road, some old guy was about to throw it out. had no clue what it was at the time, but as soon as I heard it, I knew this was something pretty damn good.
thank god for garbage records

mostly yeah, but Portishead's Third is definitely influenced by this

oh i thought you meant in what influenced them not in who they influenced haha. i was like dude this is from 1968 there really wasn't too much to influence them at that point outside of the other artists who really started the movement into oddball psych and prog stuff
but yeah i can see that third comparison hard

naw man, this album is probably one of the most influential albums of the 60s. Like VU and Nico, this album still has a certain degree of influence in music. Maybe Silver Penis inspired Silver Apples, who knows.
But I heard Third (first Portishead album I heard) not too long after I first heard this, and the sound on that album instantly clicked with me. It's way too hard to not recognize the influence these guys had on the Third album.

Pfffft. Given the era this won't twinkle at all and there's no way on earth it'll be as immersive or heartfelt as A Lot Like Birds. I bet the production is pish as well.
