truth. it’s just too bad that the guy who was primarily responsible for it died and the band was never able to come close to this again.

RTL is just les pauls in an overdriven jcm800 it's pretty standard. i mean it's a great setup but not really unique?



MOP tone was a literal renaissance in metal. scooped mesa boogie II C+ pre into jcm 800 power. so fuckin smooth. so thick. so juice. i'm not a huge MOP guy but i won't stand for belittling what they did here!! spend a weekend listening to 100 heavy / thrash records from the first half of the 80s and you will not find anything like what they did here. read interviews too, even poland was saying MOP blew up the scene and made everyone realize they should be spending money on gear and not heroin

Idk, I still think the RTL tone is far better. It sounds so huge and punchy which I think MOP lacks.
