Purple, Ozzy's Sabbath, Budgie, Nazareth, 70's Priest, Rainbow, Uriah Heep, UFO and to some extent Zeppelin, comprise the first wave for me

Everyone is bashing Led Zeppelin for plagiarism but i don't see anyone accusing Deep Purple for stealing the intro of Bombay Calling by the band It's a Beautiful Day and use it for Child in Time.
Oh well, at least Gillan had the balls to admit that they build their song around someone else's idea.

Didn't It's a Beautiful Day also take from Wring That Neck though?

It's been said before that in general, there is no such thing as "different songs". Only different people.

I don’t know man, never considered it to be anything I would potentially enjoy from past experiences. I guess my rebellious teenage years steered me away from my parents’ music. Went through an indie/alt. rock phase and bypassed all the old blues rock classics etc. Then ended up digging metal somehow, now I appreciate a good riff I’m returning due to curiosity/wanting to expand my knowledge.
Maybe I’ll even like Led Zep now? Let’s see.
