Close to a 4 for me, but not quite.

I meant for the review. I figured I can get away with a 3.5 without having to rewrite anything.

I see. You may want to change the "Final Rating" part at the end too, then.

Definitely a pretty good review for a first, dude. My first review was a tl/dr track-by-track.

And thanks, man.
I don't think I ever really hit any sort of reviewing stride, but maybe some day...

I'm actually a tad embarrassed for only getting into Thrice like a few months ago.
And fyi I have this rated higher than anything by Thrice.
I just find this the pinnacle of what is the genre of my choice (i.e., that mainstream bullshit on the radio). And even though Thrice is a better band, they're not my genre of choice (their songs with screams are the ones I like hte least)

I thought the exact same thing when I was getting into them. Give it time, man, they'll grow on you.

No worries, man. Both ties and myself started out with hard rock and all that and still listen to it fairly heavily (I think). Definitely hit one or both of us up if you ever need some recs.
And Thrice is an awesome band. My girlfriend's relatives live right next to the street where they grew up, so I'm hoping to bum some sort of autograph eventually.

Well, it's not like I don't like them already. I like nearly everything they've put out there that doesn't scream (Well, Beggars was a bit out there... if you know what I mean). Screaming is just not my cup of tea, I guess.
On the other hand, idk, this album, for example, is just more accessible. Probably because it targets a different audience.
Btw nice review.

I'm more into the metal side of things, so screaming doesn't bother me. There was a time where I couldn't even stand "screams" in Linkin Park songs. It's just something you have to grow an appreciation for.
And muchas gracias. It's pretty nostalgic to go back and read old reviews.

Not to sound like a stalker, but where would that happen to be?
Like, both Dustin and Teppei went to my high school that I go to right now (it's a bit embarrassing how few people at my school know about Thrice, seeing as how they graduated from here...) in the middle of Orange County, so I figure they can't live too far away.
They had a little video shoot for it for some school thing, and so one of my friends go to meet the whole band up close. I don't think he got an autograph though...
And recs would actually be much appreciated. (And yeah, the "screams" in Linkin Park are more or less the most I can tolerate)

Xtoxin, I understand 100% about the screaming. When I first joined I couldn't listen to more than
light screaming (Breaking Benjamin and Disciple was as heavy as I listened to). You should
definitely listen to Vheissu at some point if you haven't (didn't see it in your ratings). The
screaming is easier to take on that album, and it's really tasteful, so it might ease you into their
heavier stuff. Not to mention it's just a phenomenal album. I didn't like the screams at first, but
they grew on me.
I definitely see some familiar stuff in your ratings, so here's some recs, you may know some of
these:
Alter Bridge: Blackbird
Ra: From One
Porcupine Tree: In Absentia
Shinedown: The Sound of Madness
Karnivool: Themata
Chevelle: Wonder What's Next
10 Years: The Autumn Effect
Hurt: Vol II
Decyfer Down: Crash (though since you like Skillet and Red I imagine you've probably already heard
these guys)
You should enjoy most of these with your tastes I think.

Yeah, I've heard Vheissu. I'm pretty sure I 5'ed it. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure why TAitA has a 4.5, except that I guess I heard TAitA first out of anything else Thrice... Changed it to a 4 upon re-listen. More screaming than I remembered... meh, although it definitely still kicks ass.
And yeah, I've heard a few of those albums, but I'll definitely check them out. Thanks!

@tiesthatbind,
I'm almost done with this list you showed me about five months prior. Thanks again for the recs. Aside from the Ra and Shinedown albums, I enjoyed them all, although I still have to listen to the last three. (I am familiar with all three bands, though, so I figure I'll like them.)
On a different note, I relistened to Vheissu after a while, and I definitely noticed the screams were more digestable (Is that a word?), although with a now far better catalog of music to compare to, I put it at a solid 4.0. I'm still not digging the screams and definitely prefer clean vox, but I think I'm getting there. (I'm definitely under the impression that I'll always be a clean vocals kind of guy, though.)

Yeah no problem dude. I think I have a better understanding of where you're at musically then most other people on the site will, so I'm glad to help you on your musical journey. If you look past all the trolls and elitism, this site can be a great place to really expand your taste, and it's done wonders for mine so far.

Yeah, they live somewhere in Orange County. Sorry for the late response, so have some recs in return:
Muse - Absolution
The Devin Townsend Project - Ghost (careful with this guy; a lot of his other stuff is pretty heavy, hence the nickname of heavy devy)
24 Black - 24 Black
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Pearl Jam - Ten
Anberlin - Cities
The Black Keys - Magic Potion
Cake - Comfort Eagle
Chevelle - Wonder What's Next/Sci-Fi Crimes
dredg - El Cielo
I didn't look at your ratings, so sorry if any of those are albums you've already heard.
