Prog rock's "wank over substance" is kind of a myth though isn't it? Prog metal just obscured the view and enhanced the stereotype

i never really understood the prog issues, shouldnt we want expansion in our music, it is entertainment, I understand the Punks minimalist attitude and respect it, but prog, expansion is just as respectable, who was telling Bethoven to hurry up and get it over with, sounds stupid to have a problem with it
