Is it really? Wow, I didn't even expect that. The bigger the song becomes, the less difficult the decision is for Area 15. Surely!? They'll get hush money just by the mere mention of it.

Wait, this is good? But....they were so bad.

I didn't mind their previous releases (1 full-length & 1 EP), but this is definitely a step up.

"this album is killer, when it comes to the hooks, some of the best in the genre of post hardcore tbh."
I agree. It's just a shame that the #1 hook appears to be pilfered.

lobby's pie chart: Metal = 34%, Death Metal = 26%, Black Metal = 16%, Power Metal = 8%.
I can confirm that anyone with a pie chart that looks remotely similar to this will not exactly love this album.

I don't usually believe there is even such a thing as a "guilty pleasure", but in this case, I do indeed feel a little "guilty". I think I might not be the only one!

lol...nicely pointed out. but since joining i went from almost fully-metal to other genres...believe it or not, i am now getting into other non-metal genres esp. post-rock/hardcore, punk, indie. but the poppy cleanly-sung tracks on this are really gay, it's almost throw-away generic radio pop-punk. the heavy/soft sound is too forced...
anyway its IMO, and 2.5 isn't that low actually for me...loved the first few tracks!!

Good to hear you are getting into other music lobby. I think in the case of this band, they know they are not going to mix it with the big boys when it comes to the hardcore side of post-hardcore. So they make do with their other strengths, which lie on the pop-punk side of things. But I disagree that it is generic (& "gay") because I find that many of said songs on this LP are as catchy as I have heard this year from any genre, including straight out pop.

Has anything happened yet from the obvious plagiarism?

I kind of missed the boat on metal really. Never really enjoyed like, the heavy heavy shit. I like melodic clean vocals the most tbh.

I'm with you musicaddiction101.
And Strikey would be the best person to ask Dougie.
Every time I think I'm rating this too high, I go back & listen to it. Nope, it's still great catchy fun.

Thanks to this review, I started listening to the album, and I haven't regretted it for one sec. So energetic and powerful.

When I downloaded the epitaph sampler, the only ones that I found good enough to keep were this and Dark horse (I would have kept the parkway drive song, but I don't really like live stuff) Then later, when I was at my record store's sale, this was in the bargain bin. I have it but have yet to listen to it. Is it as good as I hope it is?

In a way, I'm not surprised that this album is in a bargain bin already (although most albums are within 6 months nowadays). I was reading an article about how the band really thought this would be more successful than it was... & I agree.
TRMshadow, if you like a catchy & energetic post-hardcore with dashings of pop-punk, then you should like this. They aren't looking to redefine music, that's for certain... But it's darn fun & as infectious as anything I've heard before from this kind of band.
