I can't wait to get their latest album in the mail : ).
So you're finally getting Psycho the Rapist? I'm going to try to get Metalstyles to check them out eventually (I'm on a mission to get him into industrial metal).

Great review. I've read some good stuff about these guys but now I'm at a cross-roads hahaha. I'll probably end up liking this quite a bit seeing as I jizz over anything that refers to post-metal.
Well, I did rate this a "3" which means it's good. I think my main problem is that there was so much more they could have done with this.

ha ha, your opinion doesn't count because you don't really like post metal anyway.

There is, such as the new Isis album. I can't think of anything better out there that mixes the same influences as this album, though (and if there is someone should post them here).

I believe Decibel said the same thing about this (yet they still gave it a 8/10 hahaha)

You know, I don't think that will be very difficult. He loves nu-metal as much as I do and that sub-genre florished off of the industrial vibe for the most part. Re-read my nu-metal list again and you will see that over half the list was at least, in some part, influenced by industrial. Good choice with S.C.I.E.N.C.E as well hahaha. I thought you were recommending him the craptacular Make Yourself.

I was torn between a 3 and 3.5, but I figured I'd save a higher rating for the upcoming full-length (which hopefully expands their spectrum a little bit more than the EP).

Yeah, he also loves industrialized metal, but the real industrial metal is taking some time. He doesn't like the processed vocal styles. I had him check out that Incubus album so he could relate it to a band he had me check out.

Morning View is the best album Incubus will ever create. Isis and Burst both rule, and I can't think of any band that could ever hope to touch Isis when it comes to post metal.

I don't know. I like Isis' later albums more than Neurosis' last few.

I can't believe the blasphemy happening in this thread. Especially the Morning View comment hahahahaha.

But I'm kind of torn between Neurosis/ Isis last few albums as well. All are stellar examples of how to be 'original' in sound.

Morning View is definitely better than Make Yourself and whatever their last album was called, but it doesn't have shit on S.C.I.E.N.C.E.

I'm not really torn - Isis' last few have been much better. In the long term, though, Neurosis always has Souls at Zero, Enemy of the Sun and The Eye of Every Storm.

Well I prefer Morning view for two reasons 1."Under My Umbrella"
2."Aqueous Transmission"

Never heard of Neurosis, so I'll stick with Isis.

Maybe you should grow some balls and give Neurosis a try so you can see where Isis came from? hahahaha

shhhhhh Wizard, he's going to check Butcher Jones out first because tons of people already love Neurosis and well Butcher Jones - pretty much only I know of them.
