great album, but its no Public Strain
|

that's true but black rice shaking hand and the first two tracks are probably as good as any song from public strain, with the exception of eyesore.

They are undoubtedly fantastic songs but nowhere near as powerful as the stuff on Public Strain imo.
|
| |
i think the only reason those songs aren't as affecting is because public strain is a much more cohesive effort and the experience of each song is enhanced by what came before, as opposed to this, which is more like a collection of tracks, most of which are great ideas, and some of which are downright amazing.

I agree with all your points
For me, each and every track on Public Strain has at least that one moment of wow-factor. The album is just absolute perfection in terms of making each song an immersive experience

word. i agree, one of the few indie albums i really care about.

this review sucks, he basically says the only good song is Group Transport Hall and then gives the album a 3.5

"Sometimes you can find the best albums in some of the strangest places."
????
"i'd really only suggest getting 'group transport hall'."

I CAN HARDLY RECOGNIZE THE SHAPES

the end of Shaking Hand brings me to tears
Lawncare and Upstairs are also great
|
| |
i really like the first 2 tracks together and of course black rice also.
black rice is the song that always makes everyone i show this to go, "this band is pretty good." but they don't understand.
