I can't see to get into the older stuff.

I really like angela's vocals. Those brothers, they can shred some good leads and solos.

I heard I Am Legend/Out for Blood yesterday on MusicChoice and it re-energized my interst in this. That song along with the first three are unbelievable.

I'm liking Machine God Creation a lot...it's a lot slower and easier, but the last minute where it speeds up is unbelievably awesome.

Old stuff, your best bet would be with Stigmata, undoubtedly the best they've ever done...hell, one of the best melodic death metal albums ever.

Angela is somewhat of a better singer, yes, but Johan has the low end working for him.

Plus, their old music is UNBELIEVABLY better than their new.

Fantastic review for a fantastic album and band. Michael Amott and Christopher Amott are one of the best duos in metal, as far as I'm concerned, and Angela is definately making her vocals much more noteworthy. I don't think there's really one solo on here that I skip or can't stand listening to. I especially like the ones in "Skeleton Dance," "Nemesis," and "Machtkampf" (my favorite song on this album). Again, great job.

Some ongs really stand out on this album, but others don't. I like Nemisis, My Apocalypse, Carry The Cross, and Machtkampf.

Matchkampf has a really awesome feel to it...it's like going 100 miles an hour, almost. Excellent solos on it as well.
Thanks much guys. :thumb:

I like the Johan-era more, but this CD is still great, definitely one of the best releases of 2005. 'Enter the Machine' is a great opener.

I just realized, this is one of the only more popular harsh female fronted bands that isn't a nu-metal/metalcore band. More props to them.

You may be thinking of Michael Amott's signature guitar made by ESP. Here's a link to a picture and various characteristics of it.
