i actally like howards voice better then jesses, his screams are just to high pitched, though he is the same live and howard is not. but really teoh is better then every album, then Aojb, then daylight, then this, then there first album..

Starkweather and Unbroken weren't around in 1989 or anything....

I would consider Unbroken a hardcore band, but I can see what you mean. KsE definitely did not invent metalcore, but they did define it's sound in the early 2000s.

Jesse made this band. The musicians all have talent but they've gone downhill ever since The End Of Heartache.

The awesomeness of The Empire Shall Fall backs up my point haha!

One positive thing about this album is that if you're having a sleeping disorder like insomnia, this album will put you to sleep in less than 20 minutes.

Well written review I must say.

God, it's so depressing now how good bands have to be in this day and age.

Huge letdown, Jesse needs to rejoin the band cuz nothing worthwhile has been done since The End of Heartache. Few listenable songs on this but thats it for me

they always have sucked chinky dick (except one album) and getting back their old vocalist isn't going to change that

while I don't think they've always sucked, they do really only have one awesome album. the first self titled was pretty good and at least original, but the last three have just been enjoyable from a pop-metal perspective, which I'm cool with but I also understand how it could annoy the shit out of metal fans.

but no, bringing Jesse back would NOT fix this band. Even if they made another Alive or Just Breathing, it might get some acclaim but would still be ultimately a little boring because it's been done so many times. Howard's not even really the problem. Sure, he sings a bit too much and both his vocals as well as his lyrics can get cheesy at times, but have you heard Jesse's performance on Empire Shall Fall? Lyrics are just as cheesy and the vocal melodies are not even as interesting as Howard's. Their problem is they stop innovating and started letting Adam D. write the songs on guitar (s/t and AOJB were Joel) and they just decided to go poppy and commercial.

I say take it for what it is, don't expect awe-inspiring metalcore from these guys anymore.
