Falling to Infinity is better than everyone says it is imo, Trial of Tears and Lines in the sand stack up against any of DT's best epics. I used to disregard Lifting Shadows too but it ended up growing on me a lot over the span of 4-5 years.

Yeah, Trial of Tears is ok, just hasn't sunk in. But Lifting Shadows definitely grew on me after more listens.

Lifting Shadows is probably the best of their mellower songs. It's a shame that John Myung isn't writing bass lines this creative these days.

A damn shame.
I guess my deal with this album is that the music is great ('cept maybe A Rite of Passage), but lyrically, it could be better.

I think I favor JP's lyrics over MP's. a Nightmare to Remember is rather sick. At least the opening lines, my fav.

I am LOVING the mini series these guys are putting out; they're auditioning drummers and stuff, it's really fun to watch.

I wanted to watch it today, but didn't have the chance. I guess I'll make a better effort if you're saying it's good.

It's a good album, but it's 'The Count of Tuscany' that steals it for me

The most underrated album by Dream Theater in my opinion. BC&SL is a brilliant album, and the most sophisticated since Scenes!

4 for the album overall.
5 for the Count of Tuscany. beautiful.

The Count of Tuscany should be called La Villa Strangiato Pt. 2.
|

the secound disc in the delux edition is better than the actual album

I doubt that.

doubt all you want

Damn, I've had this album so long and listened to none of it.
|

you should probably listen to it, although not as good as said secound disc, its pretty good.

Possibly my favourite DT album. I actually prefer the instrumental cd than the proper album. Never have been that keen on Labrie's vocals.

Brilliant album, though there aren't really any surprises here, and its far from their best, considering their past. Mind you, The count of Tuscany is amazing!

I personally like the instrumental tracks better than the actual songs. Labrie is the weakest part of this album IMO.
