Floods is amazing. The outro is what I think sums up Dimebag the best.

And Alexi Laiho may be more technical but I grow tired of Children of Bodom after one or two listens. He's got no feel in his playing. If you want an overated band, look no further than Bodom.

Hey check it out. A borderline subar album to follow a very sh*tty album (Far Beyond Driven)

I was better off not buying this...it's not that good.

Dude, you know what, your a pussy, you know that? How the hell can you NOT have something for Floods? Floods is quite possibly the best song I have ever heard. The solo was voted #29 on the 50 best solos of all time. Once more, your talk of The Great Southern Trendkill pisses me off. The album was great, a symphony of Dimebag's fingers on a beautiful album. Plus, Phil's vocals on this album were appropriate to suit their genre needs. They changed their genre a bit to change with the times. In 10s Phil's primary objective was to sing the way he did, mainly to give it's vibe of "creepiness." Your just a pussy.

I grew up listening to metal around the time Pantera came out. In all honesty, I thought Cowboys from Hell was ok, until you got past Domination - then I thought it was a bit pants. (The Art of Shredding? Come off it)

I like about three songs off Vulgar Display of Power, and the rest reeks of cheese to me. I even thought this when it came out. As an album, I enjoyed Far Beyond Driven, and before you lambaste me for saying that its because it was the first album where they went out and did something a little different. Sure, "Good Friends..." is a shite song, and some are repetitive, but this was nothing different for Pantera, who'd always done the verse/chorus/verse/chorus/solo/chorus/end thing. If anything, the imperfections in this album make it better and a more challenging listen.

Trendkill, again, I thought was a move toward something a little bit more interesting. Bad vocals? Phil has always sung like that! And 10's isn't a ballad you moron. None of the songs on here are ballads. I actually think on this album Phil outdid himself on the vocal front. It was more honest and what you have to remember is that ever since Vulgar he's shouted and screamed.

I guess its all personal taste really. Nobody agrees with me when I say I thought the black album by Metallica was a bit poo... but that's another story

Phil is one of the most annoying vocalists I've ever heard, tbh.

I like what I've heard from this primarly Floods. Dime rocks as always. However I do think Dime is a bit overrated. I mean I'm not saying people like Malmsteen or Petrucci are better because they can play faster but I personally think somone like Chuck Schuldiner is much better at playing both techinical but extremely emotional solos than Dime was. Dime stills owns though, don't get me wrong.

This album is my fav Pantera Album and to be honest, the albums I got tired of were Cowboys and Vulgar... with a few songs that I still love.

Pantera didn't go downhill or uphill, they just got heavier and followed their own path!

Their sound is unique, The riffs, the drums, the bass, the voice... Pantera is just Pantera!

There is no absolute master in terms of guitar playing... there isn't a fastest either because one can always claim that it isn't music what their playing... Dime was unique, harmonic Squeals, heavy groovy riffs, wonderfull soloing... that's him! Laiho? just another neoclassical guitar player as many others out there! This Message Edited On 06.21.07

He was one of the best, my point was...

I find hes overated. People always talk about him so much, but their are way better guitarists out there.

Alexi laiho and the guy in dragonforce to name two.

Laiho and Dragonforce in general are overrated. This Message Edited On 12.02.07
