I think more than anything the way to describe this in relation to their last 2 albums is 'less obvious'.
The hooks are still there but they're slightly more crafted, more mature. There are harder passages but they're less 'LOOK GUYZ WER METUHL' than on their second album.
It's also a lot more coherent as more than a collection of songs.

It's much more solid, every song on this CD has something different to offer (other than maybe the Whisperer). And the orchestra just pull everything together to make an epic sound.

This sounds interesting... might get it.

I might get this, I kinda liked their previous album. Maybe this time they can make the whole album sound good... after reading that review they may have actually done that

Thanks for the feedback guys. Is this out in the states yet?

Album is fantastic

The bass in The English Way is pretty cool, even if it's just a couple of slaps and then a slide.
Always meant to check out a Fightstar album since Palahniuk's Laguhter but kept forgetting/getting distracted by other albums.

"The English Way" is so catchy
|

I tried so hard to like this.
|

just got this after hearing all the good things. its pretty good but i dunno i expected something a bit better, a bit more powerful.
|
| |
the hype machine killed this for me. then again i never liked them
|

I don't think this has much long lasting appeal, it is starting to grow off me
|

First few listens i didnt dig it,but its grown on me,its such a good album. I love this band and i love Charlies commitment and bravery with Fightstar. He recorded half of the drum tracks himself believe it or not,the drummer got injured mid-recording.
Good review.

painfully average. the only thing that has made this band BIG is all of their ADVERTISEMENTS.

Bit of an odd one, too much orchestral business going on, it's too dramatic at times - but they get it just right at other points. Follow Me Into The Darkness is a current stand out track for me. Don't really understand how Whisperer fits in at all though

Incredibly suprised by this album. What an effort compared to their old stuff, which i found all too similar. It was ok, but this is a giant step forward.

Be Human is still on my playlist with dredg and isis so for me that means something
"Tonight We Burn" is the worst thing theyve ever done tho... but the two songs after it more than makes up for it. I still think this could use a little more on the technical side. One Day Son is still a lot better IMO

I love this album. So many different moods and emotions on the different songs, and the extra choir and orchestra bits add a real extra dimension to the songs.
Can be soo catchy and also thunderingly heavy, I love it. Not a 5, as there are some weak tracks (I can't quite get into Tonight We Burn, and whilst I like it, The Whisperer is a total Muse rip) but awesome nonetheless.
Whilst it doesn't have the best song Fightstar have ever written (that'd be Mono or Deathcar) it's their most consistent and best album.
I thought the review was spot on =)

So, I guess this is definitely worth checking out.
