I disagree with this review. Chimaira does not even come near of being like other bands out there. This alum is definitely not metalcore, Metal music has changed, this is metal. The metal mainstream is not metallica or megadeath anymore, get with the times. Metal doesn't change; more sub-genres are made and the face of metal to the mainstream changes. And I'm pretty sure some average NWOAHM album isn't the definiton of metal as a whole anyway.

This makes me feel that you are not familiar with mark's vocal style at all, he is very versatile with his vocals, especially in this album. "The Infection" is a very enjoyable album, Chimaira has never been more groovy with their riffs, and they have always managed to make a different album, at the same time keep some of the elements which they are known for.

Weird. I never thought I'd give Chimaira a really high score, but I like this. It's groovy. On Broken Glass and Impending Doom are garbage. Mark Hunter's vox are pretty average, too.

2- Instead of Killswitch Engage (yeah metalcore) for example, chimaira has been developing their sound.
