Since when is Metalcore part of the "scene."
I'm thinking along the lines of BMTH and TFC and stuff.

I like you're review Zipper, but isn't it a bit too short? Anyway the second paragraph made me lol for some reason, idk why, and since I wasn't really expecting much from this I'm totally going to pass this album. There are some rare good metalcore albums, but most of it is mediocre at best.

Don't totally pass it up, Impending Doom is really good song. Meh, I didn't feel like doing a long in depth review since Ballstothewall will be reviewing this later.
Underoath is completely overrated, they're pretty bad as far as metalcore goes.
|
| |
imo Underoath sucks! I may check out Impending Doom, but definitely not the album, thanks for the rec.
|
| |
but define the great line and lost to the sound of separation are great albums
|
| |
naah not really Kane haha, I respect your opinion, but both of these albums have just a handful of great songs along with a lot of filler imho.
|
| |
:-/
|
| |
that's just sad man, both those albums are quite excellent, especially DTGL
|
| |
yeah its sad, but not everyone can like everything haha! I have interesting music tastes I know , but I just haven't been able to get into Underoath. Sorry guys.

I wanted this to be good, but ended up disappointed. 3 at best is pretty much my opinion of this album. I agree with you for the most part but I'll probably still review this.
The majority of the album is dull and uninspired with some occassional interesting parts.
The Venom Inside sounds like 2/3 different parts just put together, doesn't flow at all.

Fuck you Zippermouth, you beat me to it. jk. Solid album though.
|

But seriously, where the fuck do you get metalcore in Chimaira? Especially on this album, I never pick up a strong enough hardcore infleunce to label it metalcore, it sounds nothign like It Dies Today, Poison The Well, etc. this is pure fuckin metal.
