Brent has got quite a history of being a blatant douchebag. Some believe most of the reason Mastodon's sound mellowed out so much with this album is because Brent spent quite a bit of touring time off with a head injury he received after provoking a fight with the bassist of SOAD and another guy. Brent has also gotten in other fights. Not only that, but Brent seems to think that he is the most amazing musician to ever live. I specifically remember him calling the members of Dream Theater "gay" in an issue of Guitar World Magazine.
Don't get me wrong, I like Brent, and I appreciate his role in Mastodon, but he's got to get his crazy ego under control. Most of his problems spawn from the fact that he's completely baked out of his mind half the friggin' time.
