I had this at 3.5 for years but recently I'm beginning to appreciate it more. First three albums are undoubtedly better but this is more appealing to me after further listens.

The only one out of the first three that can contend with this is Blood Mountain. I really like Remission, and Leviathan is solid (though very overrated imo), but CtS is way more ambitious, creative and emotional. The fact that this has The Czar AND The Last Baron? No question.

saw this album in full the other night in boston. I know they get a lot of criticism around here for their live performances but that was my third time seeing them and they were incredible. really fucking sharp. also just seeing one of my favorite albums of all time in full was pretty cool.

you can get it pretty cheap on ebay these days. it was originally a RSD exclusive though, hence my haste in getting it. haha
but I'm normally totally against covers of classics like stairway, but 'don absolutely nail it. Brann is such a great vocalist, and the solo absolutely rips
