I thought that I'd be writing a review for a 2.5 album. You have to really give it a few close listens in order to pick up on the different riffs and the cool different rhythmic ideas.





I think this is the reason why I've given this a 2.5 upon my first listen. It's ok, but the monotony really grinds on you about half way through.This Message Edited On 04.20.09

Yeah, give it a few listens. Also, headphones really do help this album because the riffs give more space to the melodies and also to their own subtle tone differences.

This album is intense. Blew my expectations out of the water. It is a bit repetitive, but honestly I think that's partially due to the heavy low-end you don't hear a lot of in black metal. With my speakers, which admittedly aren't that great, it tends to overpower a lot of really nice riffs, and there is a notable lack of cymbal smashing going on here. Regardless, I genuinely dig this album. Like Willie pretty much said, this is a good album for people just warming up to black metal. Prior to getting turned on to BM, I hated all of that "kvlt-as-f***" metal... I appreciate it more these days after having been introduced to the genre by music like what you'll find on this album.

This is a really excellent album, if you liked thier first 3 albums.



It's more intense than any of them although not as good.



If you are the ones who like all their 5th+ albums don't pick it up, this is BLACK FUCKING METAL
