I think it's a solo project (unless there's a new one now). It's more dreampop but it's seriously terrible.

Well, since this is Sturgis' album it's definitely going to be sampled no matter what. But I was reading about him on the forum, and how he lets the band pick what samples they want for the drums. It can end up sounding decent depending on their choices.
In other words, this band was an idiot and picked all the wrong samples.
