Who fuckin cares? Wow, they gained some popularity a few miles away from their hometown. Give me a break.

it was almost surreal, watching from up close as these guys became big fish in a small pond. conducting from the grave has always had a certain appeal in the melodeath department. this band does well to sound like the black dahlia murder, as well as provide a plethora of interesting ideas that make me think that they're better. the old tracks, despite lacking in their original tempo and subsequent intensity, are played very cleanly. the songs are still catchy as hell, but i think the aforementioned intensity was their real hook, which may lead to some people, such as our friend asdemonsburn, to think that they're boring offhand. if i might suggest taking another listen, particularly their old tracks (a never ending search for closure, eternally gutted, that skies blackened..., and improper burial) along with their reunion demo material (from ruins we rise and marching towards extinction), you might find that this band is quite a bit more than just part of a fad. in fact, try to avoid the calming effect. as much as i love this band, that song does absolutely nothing for them. perhaps every other song that immediately comes off as deathcore should be ignored as well, as they only serve to distract from what this band is all about. conducting from the grave is a fucking force when it comes to melodic death metal, and it's not hard to see that this band really does transcend the sumerian stereotype.

Yeah, definately not 4.5. And I love most Sumerian bands. They're a pretty sweet label imo. Good for decent tech metal, plus some really outstanding stuff.

This is a barrage of technical deathcore, unrelenting but abit too long and repetitive from me. It avoids being generic and predictable for the most part utilising Gothenburg riffing to its maximum potential playing some unbelievable melodies whilst pumelling the listener by what is a pretty tight performance from the drummer. Whilst I am not a massive fan of tech metal i find this intriguing to listen to but find myself annoyed at some passages which are littered and lacking structure.

No, this is an average, decent Album, far from a non-stop listener.

This is pretty damn cool, very melodic. I suppose I should listen to ""good"" tech death eventually.

justinbeenshot --

their problem at the moment is that their touring with bands like carnifex and impending doom who are nothing like conducting music-wise. all the fans at the show are a bunch of kids who just want to swing their arms around during breakdowns. conducting from the grave doesn't deliver in the breakdown dept. so the crowd just stands there with their arms crossed.

i went to this same tour and my buddy and i were the only two people there who knew who this band was and i thought they were unbelievable. their guitarists are out of this world and they are insanely clean.

oh, and i think this album is up there with best new stuff that's out there right now. this band definitely deserves to be bigger, and i'm sure they'll be getting pretty big once they start getting more stuff out.

Sorry, just listening to this album again and I need to comment... again. Anyone who says this album is mediocre or that these guys are just another average Sumerian band or another run-of-the-mill tech death band are INSANE. I have VERY seldom heard a more promising debut and anyone's who's face is not raped by "Eternally Gutted," "A Never Ending Search For Closure," "Marching Towards Extinction," "Improper Burial"

*note* At this point of my song listings I realized that I was about to name every single song on the album *note*

So... yeah... you get the picture. Can't wait for more stuff from this band in the future.
