This band is amazing and it should be the next band you check out, starting with Full Collapse, which is a landmark post-hardcore album.

THIS is the least immediate thursday? Yikes. Hate to think of what War all the Time and City by the Light Divided are.

cos city is their most engaging front to back while also housing like 7-8 absolute classics, including their best song (autumn leaves)?

3-4 absolute classics buried in the rest which constitutes easily their worst output, imo. The pop punk songs are vomit worthy

City has such interesting and diverse tracks. I don't even think this album has a single tempo change for the entire 50 minutes.

aight the pop punk songs are the worst ye but still not bad by any means counting a ripper. i used i could see how you wouldn’t vibe with telegraph and overcome but they all have enough aspects to make up for it (notably the synth riff in overcome), and basically every other song is their best material

and other side, sacrament, running from the rain, blinding light, at this velocity and autumn leaves all have comfortable places in my top thursday songs

Telegraph is one of the better songs on City imo, but that album is my least fave Thursday (even Waiting feels more authentic and engaging). This on the other hand, while admittedly their most homogenous and worst produced, finds an angle and absolutely nails it. Very high standard of writing from start to finish

Really I'm not sure there's a need to debate what's better or worse here as I'm pretty into any Thursday album, but this one was just as immediate as Full Collapse the first time I heard it, and that's it. War All The Time and City required a solid degree of effort. Mind you the middle of City is just top notch.

city is all top notch except arguably overcome/telegraph which are like still solid radio rock songs and have good things about them
