These guys, regardless of what others claim, certainly boast a unique playing style.
They're obviously influenced by Meshuggah and other bands like that, but their style of choppy, semi-technical melodic riffing gives them an edge.
They hold their own. I'm excited for new stuff.

This album is a lot of fun. When I'm in a mood to listen to some catchy guitars, I listen to Born of Osiris and Within The Ruins.

Tried to listen to this again today, was really boring this time.

I don't know how someone could find this album boring, not liking this kind of metalcore is fair, but nearly every song on this album makes me want to storm the fuckin castle.

"makes me want to storm the fuckin castle. "
That's the sentence I was looking for that defines this album. Even if you hate the vocals and the fact it's metalcore, the guitarists are retardedly good.

The guitar work on this album is juicy like a steak. The drums are good when they need to be vocalist meh.

I never got into FFTL, besides I despise Sonny Moore now. But Travis Richter is fucking boss in The Human Abstract and The Color of Violence.

"
sounds exactly like After The Burial/Veil of Maya/Born of Osiris
BUT i like all them bands so ok.
Complete Meshuggah rip off though."
Never noticed this from sspedding.
Complete fail. Sounds nothing like Meshuggah or BoO or VoM. Wow.
