I’ve said it many a time before but this album is perfect in every way.

The line where he says something along the lines of “I love you but you mean nothing to me” I can painfully relate to.

*"you are beautiful, but you don't mean a thing to me" but yeah that's a great line

Oh yea that’s it. I’ve only listened to this once but it’s crazy the amount of lines I remember. That’s truly a testament to it. Plus I adore how post rocky the t/t gets it’s gorgeous and probably the best track in the album for me so far.

Expo 86, The New Year, and t/t are probably my favorites. And Death of an Interior Decorator which seems to be overlooked

I just heard this for the first time about a month ago and loved it. Also check We Have the Facts if you haven't yet

The Wrens - Meadowlands, Okkervil River's - Down The River of Golden Dreams, The Weakerthans - Reconstruction Site are all in the same vein of the introspective, melancholic & poetic kinda vibe

and then you have albums like The Notwist's 'Neon Golden' & The Postal Service's 'Give Up' (still blows my mind how he released both of these in the same year)

absolute belter of a sad boi year

Boney, if you like these guys you definitely have to check out The Weakerthans. Left And Leaving is one of my favourite albums of all time.

I’ve heard and love the Okkervil debut so that album should be a definite love for me.
