OKLAHOMA WHERE THE WIND COMES SWEEPING DOWN THE PLAIN BREEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Prophets is a grower. The intensity is immediately apparent, initially it can sound homogeneous even, but re-listens highlight some pretty fucking good songwriting imo. I didnt like it much at first.
Great band, hope we hear their next venture soon.

Prophets was my first of theirs, actually. I am going a little backwards. I pretty much loved it at the get go and still love it now
I like how this kind of morphs into a more melodic/melodeath style from the bridge/ending of Accessible Losses and onward

Yeah, I didn't really notice it until Veritas, so I backtracked a little after my first listen and went thru again and was like hot damn, look at that little transition of styles
Nicely done, fellas

I was kinda thinking Unearth, actually, but looks like you have some of their stuff rated already, but specifically Watchers and Storm are my key albums from them
Also: Himsa - Summon in Thunder
They have more of a melodeath vibe than Unearth, so they might be a better comparison to Darkest Hour, and they also have a thrashy mxc sound to them, at least I think they do

Yeah AC there’s really nothing I can think of that hits this exact niche. When I’m in the mood for this I usually listen to other Nordstrom-produced or one of the various Tomas Lindberg affiliated projects because those will at least usually capture the aesthetic if not exactly the style. I usually find other 00s metalcore won’t capture the right aesthetic. I’m more likely to switch over to The Crown or even something like Skitsystem or Ictus after jamming this
