Do you see where the comparison to Godless Prophets comes from now?
Although I can't stand the sparkly clean production on that album, and feel that the raw sound on here suits the music way better.
|
| |
Not really. I mean theyre both more aggressive than their other work, yes, but John Henry has grown so much as a vocalist and the guitar work on the latter is a good deal better. This is full of really stellar riffs though. I love both but a good deal different.

What are your thoughts on the production of both albums, Observer?
|
| |
They suit each other well, though a remaster for this would be interesting.
That aside, this is the band while theyr'e young, apparently blatantly in love with At The Gates, and still learning how to be a band and write music, and the production reflects this really well (less funds too).
Godless Prophets is something of a comeback for them as they went ultra melodic for a bit, which wasn't bad but definitely didn't sound natural for them. I like the production on that one too as it highlights how strong henry is on vox and the band with their instruments.

I appreciate the perspective. Perhaps I'll give Godless Prophets another try soon.
