I'm going to have to check iTunes when I get off of work because this sounds like it could be really good.

Which should I check out first: This or the debut?
Doesn't really make a difference, if you like either you'll be compelled to check out the other. Just go with this one.

I've finally had a chance to listen to this and it really is awesome. You described what to expect perfectly. I was curious how it was a funeral doom was going to make it through an entire album without ever being heavy, but they actually do.

Sweet, I knew you would like this one Trey. How good is the title track :D

The title track made me cry

Just ordered this along with some of their older albums. Looking forward to hearing this.

Couldn't get into Monad at all, but what I heard from this I remember liking more. Still, will probably be on the back burner for a while, so many albums to get through.
Solid review.

Reminds me a lot of Asunder. I really like this but I still prefer Twilight Amaranthine.
|
| |
Eh, they're not all that similar to Asunder. This is far more 'mournful', for want of a better word.

Saw these guys last weekend. Excellent live show...

"Although being considered extreme metal, Mournful Congregation are remarkably palatable to those who do not often dabble in the genre."
I don't often dabble in the genre, but I didn't find this palatable, it was incredibly boring. Things did pick up after the first few tracks but by that time I had lost interest. Even though, the musicianship on some of the latter tracks was good, it only saved this album from being a a total flop...This Message Edited On 04.07.09

It's called funeral doom for a reason.
|
| |
Yeah, the reason being to warn innocent listeners from falling into it's nauseating drone.
