And yeah, I'd almost go as far to say right now that Kenny has the best Aussie voice going around.
100% true, and yes, i would pray to him.

Also, i agree with David, whether something is mainstream or not is irrelevant.

"Our Ian, who art in heaven..."

Ooops, I hope that didn't offend anyone! Who am I kidding, this is SputnikMusic.

At least we agree on the rating for this album Billy. Although, I must admit I was tossing up between a 3.5 & a 4. It's probably a genuine 7.5 out of 10. What swayed me to move upwards at the end is that I have a tendency to prefer albums where basically every song could be a single. Most people actually don't for different reasons.

Actually I rated it down because I realised I'd had it so high in the first place just because it was Kenny. Then I realised I never really did entirely like this album.

Huh? So you used to rate albums solely on who was the singer on them?

Will you be adjusting your rating for 'Universes' also?

Our Ian, who art in heaven,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as in Perth.

Anyone got anything to add?

Yeh, i moved this up to a four after listening to it again the other day. Agreed that basically every song on here could be a single.

I think we're onto something here.

I think me and a mate decided while watching these guys at the BDO that they're just too... smooth. Like, they got the whole atmosphere vibe going but without the edge. It's a good sound, but just too laid back and comfortable. I've only heard Universes tho, and not this.

"... & deliver us not to the Vool, but via the wings of birds to Tokyo". AMEN!

"Smooth"? Yeah, I can see where you're coming from Alex. And to be totally honest with you, this album is actually "smoother" than 'Universes'. The thing is, what's wrong with "smooth"? What's wrong with "laid back and comfortable"? If it can work for indie & other genres, why can't it be a positive that a rock band can't instill those qualities. That's my glass half full approach to it anyway. I can see why yourself & others might think otherwise.

Kane, I'm unsure where this "over-rated on this site" mindset is coming from. No-one on here has rated this album higher than a 4!This Message Edited On 02.02.09

I might just give this a look, you've interested me with the review. Is it streaming on last fm or myspace? I'm too lazy to check for myself :P

Yeah, give it a look Spamue1. Or maybe wait for my review of 'Universes' first & then decide which may better suit your tastes.

As for MySpace & LastFM, apologies but I'm not really the expert on those fields, especially lately with my home pc having problems with the heat.

This was at a time where I pretty much had a man crush on Kenny. And no, I won't be, because Universes was far more mature and up my alley. Actually, depends what I gave it...at first I gave it a 5, but I lowered that pretty quickly. This Message Edited On 02.03.09

Your honesty (especially concerning having a man-crush) makes your reasoning sufficient Tom. As can be seen, others get around admitting to man crushes by instead God-worshipping!

And yeah, I think you have 'Universes' rated at a 4.5.

Well, I'm listening to Goldfinger's version of '99 Red Balloons' at the moment... Should we fight in German? Or should we discuss how Nina was under-appreciated & could have been the next Madonna?
