Ahh, kudos to Yellowcard. Kind of forced me to listen to the band (and this is their highest ranked album and all).
It sounds really great from the first few songs.

Whatever, if you don't bother to compare them, then you can enjoy double the amount of music.
I love YC, and it seems like I'm going to love Saves the Day, too.

I can see why. I'm on track 6, and so far they've all been great. And apparently the best are yet to come. I can't believe I haven't heard of this before, but I was like 8 when this came out, sooo yeah.

Yotimi, if you had to pick between these guys and BOC, who would it be?

I mean I like them for different reasons but I'd take BoC cuz I pretty much love every song they've done. StD has a couple bad albums.

@Yotimi, you were right. The last two tracks were the best. I think this is sitting at a solid 4.5 for now. May go up after another a few more listens though.
Another thought, in my opinion, you should reevaluate Yellowcard. They may not be as good, but lyrically and musically I think they're both very similar.
Now if only YC could make a ballad like Saves the Day.

how many of you(besides yotimi, obviously) have heard can't slow down?

can't slow down is good, but it's pretty much Lifetime worship. I'll throw it on now and then. Through Being Cool is when they actually wrote a uniquely kickass pop-punk record. Then they knocked it out of the park with this one. then they shit the bed and the neighbor's bed with In Reverie. then they gave it a good comeback shot with STA, but UTB was another 2 steps backwards. 2003 is when I abandoned hope.

the lifetime thing is really exaggerated, the vocals/lyrics are completely different, they both just happen to have a melodic hardcore sound(palm-muted riffs, fast rhythms, melodic bass). the actual songwriting itself on can't slow down is amazing, more dynamics and quirks than people are willing to point out. through being cool is also a classic.
stay what you are really got me into this band and it's still one of the greatest records, but a lot of people just tend to stick with it and not really delve into the other material. in reverie i used to think was their best, still some great songs, but that's probably the biggest turning point in their music, almost feels like a different band.

idk there are so many songs on can't slow down that are done so perfectly that i just can't resist it, like the choke, always ten feet tall, hot time in delaware, jodie, three miles down, handsome boy....idk i'd probably end up naming every song. its influences are there, but to me it just takes that sound and transcends it to something so much better.
through being cool is awesome because it retains the heavy and hard-hitting moments but brings in more choruses, more hooks, more grandiosity. stay what you are is kind of like that, but less punk and the songs aren't just as good to me.
idk all this shits subjective, just my take i guess.

I still prefer Can't Slow Down to anything past Stay. I always go back to In Reverie to see if I've grow out of my hatred for it, but it's still just musical fluff to me. chris conley singing with a ham sandwich in his nose.
