Lyrics are laughable, the riffs are hardly 'riffs', just madly distorted chords.

I could go on and on broski.

Still hits hard for me pleb. When I gave it a first listen I though what the fuck is this shit (shit being good, and good leading onto classic)

Just fuckin love Max Sep bro always have always will.

Considering the fact I can seamlessly move from Opeth to Bring Me the Horizon to Strapping Young Lad to the one Crazy Town song that isn't completely unlistenable (Drowning), I'd say this is pretty metal.

This one was the first Sep cassette I had bought at the time probably due to the huge popularity of Chaos AD. Didn't enjoy it much then, don't enjoy it now.

We all do, just not this particular album.
Pre-Choas A.D. Sepultura is some of the best thrash ever.

Agreed JT. For me though Chaos and this throw in a bit of brutality, tribal drumming, tone back the thrash and let rip. As a kid hearing Sep for the first time (Chaos) was the heaviest thing ever, they still hold their magic.

As years go by I have come to appreciate this album's place in the history of 90s metal scene. During the mid 90s you had this one, The X Factor, Load and Divine Intervention which for me at least were disappointments.

However, these albums were a reason for me to branch out to some other genres within metal that were on the rise back then and as a result I came to love bands such as Anathema, Amorphis, The Gathering and Paradise Lost among others. In that sense this has been a significant album in shaping my taste in music even though I didn't enjoy it much.

Chaos A.D. is pretty good too even though a big step down from Arise.
