Just heard this all the way through for the first time and it goes to show how yucky this genre has become over the years when a record from 2004 feels infinitely more exciting and rejuvenated than most contemporary metalcore. "Five Years", "The Year Summer...", "In Summary..." and "On Account..." are so fucking goood.

Chills on that outro riff in Five Years. Band was like 10 years ahead of their time.

Might be time for a Mis Sigs discog run...

Shocked that Branden Morgan isn't a name that pops up when people discuss god-tier metal drummers. Dude was playing 4th dimensional chess behind the kit during a time when drums sounded so tame in alt-music. Gives me Alex R from Saosin vibes.

He’s among the best drummers I’ve ever heard. He is massively overlooked as I never really his name come up in larger discussions about metal/punk bands, but that goes for Mis Sigs in general.
This album is basically untouchable because the Morgan brothers and Jesse’s performances could be lead an entire album by themselves, but all 3 of them are here on the same record.

Went to Smackdown last night and this dude had a sign that said “listen to misery signals” on the front and “five years breakdown” on the back. He was sitting at the ramp so the sign made tv m/
