Rasp if you haven't hit up acid witch yet I think you might like that as well.

Ya, but I know he's a doom/death fan so that's why I mentioned it hehe.

yes, very interesting, pos. Listened to speaking and emma's song on myspace. Very cool, that drumming packs a pretty relentless punch. Found lyrics on metal archives - brilliant - so many lyrics in metal are totally facile, refreshing to hear some halfway decent sentiments expressed in black metal.
Dig this quote from myspace: "I created this project because i was tired of consumer driven music,a-political and boring ,stale satanism and racist bullshit that plagues the black metal community. no hair cuts,no big record labels,no biggotry,no drum machines,no rulers,no masters."
Cheers Ras, gonna be getting this
|

Yeah, I was rather impressed with that quote as well, it's good to see some worthy drive behind the music. I'm glad you liked the myspace tracks, I'll tell you now that although they're good they're possibly the weaker tracks on the album

well that's promising

I'm two songs in and I'm amazed at how melodic it actually is. I love the analogy of stepping out into the cold in the last paragraph. Makes you feel alive again. I'm definitely going to enjoy this once I get out of class.

Yeah, that's what got me the first time I listened to it, it's got a very unique sound to it. It really is a breath of fresh air in terms of metal

well to be honest, my last semester (July to November) was totally ****ing insane. I taught 7 courses which is absurd (actually against college policy), but one of the lecturers in our department went on sabbatical, so I had to help pick up the slack . . . They had to put me on as contract lecturer on top of my full time lecturing - which meant I could get paid for it, which was cool, but then again, I didn't have time to listen to much music. Luckily this semester things are looking like being back to normal, thank God.
|
| |
Ah, that's fair enough. It's good to hear you'll be around more often though, you've been missed in the doom circles
|
| |
yeah, and I'm really behind the times. Just checked out WillieFisterbut's latest Doom list, and thought, "Jesus, I'm a doom fan and I've only heard two of these!"
|
| |
I hadn't heard a whole bunch of those either! Definitely look back over some of my past reviews, there's a lot of albums you've missed that would definitely pique your interests.
|
| |
Yeah, cool, I'll do that, I really need to get some new stuff.

Really good review rasputin. This seems pretty awesome. Plus you compared it to Massive Conspiracy Against All Life, which also rules.
|
| |
seeing as you mentioned it in here rasp, should I check out Leviathan?
