this album is amazing, but every album ive heard since then has sounded like shit to my ears (dowsing and some of
hubardo and their EP before that and his solo stuff). the first track on dowsing is just him making horrible groans, as is
the first track on hubardo. choirs of the eye was melodic all the way through and never weird for the sake of weird. maybe
i like kayo dot for different reasons to everyone else, but everything after choirs sounds like a totally different band to me.
i didn't find choirs to be particularly strange or avant-garde at all, just a really nice, melodic chamber album with some
bursts of energy.

maybe i should get blue lambency downward. looks like that might be the album id like most since i tend to admire the more melodic aspects of this band than the "weird" ones. thoughts?

naw

give hubardo more of a chance, the cookie monster growls are only in that first track and the rest is incredible

I think your GIF is one of the funniest I've ever seen.

Blue Lambency is melodic, but in a very weird way. I think you'll dig Clelia Walking and Symmetrical Arizona for sure though. Also Hubardo is incredible (but I have to agree that the opener is the worst part by a mile)

The closer is strangely enough my biggest highly, but I listened to the album while I was rather tired, so I geared towards its more immediate nature

Opener is ok, but definitely the worst song. Still, the album is really good as a whole, very consistent after that.

But this is just first listen talk, I wanna see how I think after more listens

I love Marathon so much, but I agree that the Antique is best

Marathon, Antique, and The Manifold Curiosity are all 5's. Maybe Wayfaerer to. Fuck it, upping this.

Album is classic, so I think, is Hubardo. I've been listening to these two back to back since last night, and they make for fantastic bookends to what I think is a splendid discography.

Yeah, if they disband now it wouldn't feel so bad, it's like the circle is closed.
