^Try some Strokes or Interpol. If you're into punkier stuff, go with some Thrice. Metal, System is pretty out there, though not the hardest you'll find. Pop-punk, Green Day is a personal favorite of mine, but to be sure there's a lot more out there that many seem to find better.

Going mainstream isn't a bad thing, per se, but when it's all "normal" people know about, it becomes a bit perturbing. This album is more times than not hailed above In Utero and even Unplugged, both of which are vastly superior.

That doesn't mean much though. Alot of hit albums are actually fairly terrible. While I'll be the one protecting Nirvana till the day I die, this album still really isn't that great

This is a great album. It gives you a watery feel. But I feel this CD is way too fun and outgoing. I like In Utero better then this because it is hardcore. It has that Grunge feeling. This album can just get repetitive. It's still a good album. Just don't listen to most of it twice in a row.

this album is fun. i got into nirvana when i heard this... and I didn't even know who kurt cobain was... yes pretty lame of me. i heard it and thought "cool, but i've heard a lot of this on the radio." Turns out Kurt cobain shot himself, is a demi-god to some and an overrated dude to others. In my opinion (since it is quite unbiased due to the fact that i never considered nirvana gods or mediocre... jsut a band) this album is a 3.5 or a 4. An album that sounds good, even today, but i never realized some thought this was "The album that reinvented rock" or whatever. Just a good hard rock album with some guy singing good/great songs.
many people put their bias to judge this album which is unfair because for what it's worth, this album is good. not because it's a Nirvana album, but because it's a good album
