You change your mind like a woman DavID. Because I know you like my puns; 'Always' will always be Saliva's best.

But I'm glad you liked this album. I told you that I wouldn't lead you too far astray with the review. What were your favourite tracks...??? The closer, I presume...

By the way, I wouldn't quite suggest that everyone needs to rewrite their 'Best of 2008' lists because of this album. LOL!

Judgement Day, Forever and a Day.

I didn't like So Long as much as you thought I would, but it was still solid.

Wow davID, I'm a little surprised... At a few things really:

(a) You didn't like 'So Long' the best. I really thought that would be the kind of departure you would have eaten up. Sort of like that longer slower song off of Linkin Park's newie. Maybe I built it up too much. Oh well, I'll wait a while & you'll probably change your mind.

(b) You thought 'Judgment Day' was as good as I did. You are a good judge man.

(c) Here is the big one... You liked 'Forever & A Day'. I thought that may have been a little (insert drum roll here) Def Leppard'ish for your tastes! :-)

The Little Things Give You Away >>>> So Long.

Whole album is a massive improvement, a lot more energy and a lot less filler.

Also, it's pretty hard to do a drum roll with ONLY ONE ARM.

^Hell no. The only good song off of MTM was Leave Out All The Rest.

Yeah, Separated Self got ALOT of spins from me (well, Saliva was my fav band for a long time)...started my interest in using angels and devils as metaphors.

As for them not sounding the same...well, maybe I just listened to them so much a year back or so that I've learnt to tell all the songs apart. It's the same with Breaking Benjamin, I rarely listen to them but I can still instantly tell which song is playing.

That's right, 'The Little Things Give You Away'... So memorable that I couldn't recall what it was called.

Anyway, let's not get into 'Minutes To Midnight' here, I agree that 'Cinco Diablo' does indeed have more energy & less filler than previous Saliva albums. I didn't use the words "survival album" in my summary and conclusion lightly. I seriously feel as if Saliva were out to prove a point with this release & if they were not successful in doing so, then that probably would have been the end of them.

LOL, I'll pay that one-armed drummer joke.

Tom, I don't mind Breaking Benjamin either. I think those 2 bands started out way different from each other, but sort of converged to the one spot looking for as many fans as possible. Hency why I included 'Phobia' in the "Recommended By Reviewer" section of this review.

Well, that's not much of a trip at all. It's New Years Eve for goodness sake... Well, it's New Years Day down under, but that's beside the point. Let your hair down Maxy... Do something spontaneous; Go to Hawaii or The Bahamas.

My night consisted of a couple of DVDs and the fireworks display (for the first time I'm actually kinda jealous of the people there. It was like fucking daylight). Yours?

Well, he still could have been trippin DavID, he just had to take a trip of a couple of blocks to do so.

Tom, I can't recall which city you live in mate. If it's Sydney and you are referring to the harbour bridge fireworks, then I couldn't agree more. That was freakin' spectacular. There's just something about that bridge that lends itself to fireworks.

As for myself, last night was a bit of a disaster. Got a call from the neighbours saying our dog had broken through into their backyard. The mutt was going absolutely schizo due to all of the local fireworks & firecrackers (aren't they illegal?). Locked him up in the garage and in no time he had busted through that door as well. So I basically baby-sitted a dog. How sad!

Yeah, I'm in Sydney.

And for the most part, yeah I think they are illegal, but I don't think anyone particularly cares. I mean, they're there every year.

Ouch, broken garage door. What breed is your dog to do that? I bet its either a labrador or a bordie collie, they're the ones that generally go nutso.
