Yeah, I don't agree about the lack of emotional depth. Also, whether or not they were shooting for an "air" theme and whether or not they succeeded doesn't really make any difference as far as if the music is good (to me). Anyway, I was also underwhelmed by this album the first few times I heard it, so I can see where you're coming from... pos'd

A truly exemplary record, Traced in Air is essentially the audible recording of the element of Air, in all of its beauty and rage

comes from this^

Great review, I've only heard Integral Birth for the first time today and nothing more. Tis a damn good song in my humble opinion. I enjoyed your review, but I'm going to have to go with public opinion on this one and buy it.

cynic lack emotion but their compositional prowess makes up for it - their music is smoothly flowing and technical and yet has a certain understated beauty to it. i prefer focus to this anyway but this is a decent album.

Yeah, I find this to be one of the most emotionally charged metal albums I've ever heard. The fluidity, technicality, and precision create much of the emotion that I get from this. It lifts me to another plane, I feel every rolling drum fill, every word, every touch of the keys. It's probably the most inspiring thing I've ever listened to.

All that being said, this review is really really good, fuck you mutatedfreek, for having an opinion and being able to express it clearly and concisely. Fuck you.

[quote=Iluvatar]I don't see how you guys can't find emotion in Paul's voice. Those moments like in "King of Those Who Know" where he sings "ive taken off my clothes" are epic as hell.

NEG NEG NEG NEG NEG
nah i admit it was well written. But seriously someone is just going to neg because they thing you are simply wrong.
I mean lack of emotional depth? Just like all of the other average albums that come out every year?
Are you really saying this is as average as Slipknot?
