The demos are a lot more raw and agressive from what I'm hearing...I'm only on the first track though and while it isn't necessarily on par with the original Part I it's still a darn good song and I don't think the production has ruined it (yet)This Message Edited On 11.30.08

Part I/Chapter I is definitely taken down a notch, but I'll admit the rest of the album is great with Chapter IV and V sounding a whole lot better.

If IV actually sounds BETTER then that will automatically make the album awesome...

I had submitted it before. Along with artwork and a tracklist, before this review was posted. It's showing up now. And I had apparently actually reviewed it as a 3/5. Which I'm glad of. Every day that goes by has me a little more disappointed. I expected Erak to put his ego aside, but he totally did not. it almost feels like radio rock sometimes. and pure stupid at other times. it hurts. it .. it hurts bad.

This was a good album with a couple of superb moments per song.
Say album is 40 min long.. it was like 30 minutes 3-3.5 and 10 min 4-4.5 , but all mixed together. This Message Edited On 12.01.08

I think a lot of people have too much nostalgia up their ass.
At first, I didn't care for this EP so much, but after awhile I realized that it really is much better than the ghostship EP
Listen to it a couple of times before you say it sucks.

same. I was thinking at first "oh this sucks" and so on. but it's actually a solid album. yes, the production is woeful, and yes, the transitions hinder rather than help, and yes, the clean vocals aren't great, but they're minor things. it's still a 4

I've been listening to this album non-stop all day. It's grown on me, the chill intermissions, Thomas' vocals not being EXACTLY THE SAME AS GHOSTSHIP (for all of you that can't seem to get over the past) and Frank's contributions to the remade tracks, renew them as my favorite band of all time. Thom's vocals never sucked in the first place, i don't know any faithful fan that ever disliked them, it's usually the thing that draws them in in the first place, and Manipulator showed versatility from the same ol' same ol' raw sound they'd been producing for four years. Phantom is definately a cut above the rest and the production isn't even bad, i don't know if we're listening to the same thing but damn, it's finally here, don't be so picky. and to the pricks that are rating this album on their first listen: NEVER RATE AN ALBUM AFTER OR DURING YOUR FIRST LISTEN.
