I still like II a bit more but this band is almost consistently amazing.

Unorthodox and Purgatory Afterglow are both easy 4.5s for me too and The Spectral Sorrow is like a 4.2.
Such an amazing band.

II has some GOAT chugged and harmonized riffs, for sure. You just feel the groove and epicness of them, even moreso than here.

The harmonized upbeat part into that punishing mid-tempo double kick section, that's a pretty cool stretch indeed.
I think II starts off near flawless, so a favorite will always be from around 2:44 - 4:00. Just the tightness and density of those start-stop and chugged riffs have so much groove. Pure badass.

Too many, ha.
But that would be one for sure. Oh, and the solo of course! With the previously mentioned upbeat harmonized riff undeath. Damn, that's such a good section...
And yours?

@Kaiwaz Shit, realized for this album, not II lol
Oh well, just like II, too many but that clean riff section that appears twice as I said, are highlights. Also, the lead section around 18:40. For me, in a nutshell, I is all about atmosphere and riffs, and II about riffs and epicness, respectively.

I'm going to listen to this for the first time at some stage this evening.
Can't wait.

Yeah, too many to name but that's one also. What makes it hard to pick a fav is how (well) the riffs connect with each other. Mainly the distorted/lead ones, so I went with the mezmerizing clean section which appears twice at key points, as a favorite, heh.

Surprisingly, I've yet to hear this.

The only bad thing about this is the realisation that music hasn't really progressed since 1996.

I'm all about those blast beat sections, I swear they were edgy to use for Swedish DM back then. Not something you expected from EoS, anyway.

Haven't heard enough Moontower but I think it's his best vocals.
