I love the drumming in this album.

You said absolutely nothing about this album. Absolutely no detail whatsoever.
But yeah, everything you did say was right.

when drumming on an album is considered "triggered to hell", does that mean that the drummer sucks?
|
| |
no. wikipedia on triggered double bass: "With most extreme metal players using trigger pads from a drum module to make the bass drum recording/playing live easier, there is controversy about 'tapping' and 'cheating' by using high sensitivities in order to play fast, consistent sixteenth or thirty-second notes"

judging by many of the comments on this, you have downloaded the album and been fooled by the fact there's a 10 second period of white noise which although counts as a track isn't actually included on the track-list itself. Cos some descriptions of songs are clearly referring to another song. This just shows how much time you've actually spent listening to it.
If you think you can make judgements on an album by listening to it 3/4 times by downloading it from LimeWire...! Especially an album such as this which requires a certain amount of concentration to get into. Following the songs using the lyrics booklet is essential for the first 4/5 listens.
That said, I don't think it's incredible but it's probably my favourite death metal album of the year (melo death not included). Hopefully the new Faceless album will beat this.

Oh...and track 9 "Tharsis"????? That's not on the album!! Don't know where you've got that from lol
|
| |
btw what I was referring to when I said you could tell people had downloaded it and not listened to it properly was the post where someone said about the 'solo' in "No Future" and someone else agreeing. HAHA. "No Future" is a 50 second chugfest with no hint of a solo whatsoever and just acts as an intro to "Lithium Overdose". The fact it shouts No Future for the last 20 seconds of the song should've given it away to anyone paying the slightest attention to the music.

brutal.. brutally boring, that is. They got skills at their instruments, now songwriting skills, not exactly. Some cool stuff here and there though.

I think this has some incredible moments. Reign of Terror, No Future and Procreating the Infection are all top tunes.

Better when you read through the lyrics. Elliot is a good lyricist and a superb vocalist, he just doesn't have a huge range.

BTM is really excellent live, they can definitely start some violent mosh pits, but I don't think I'll ever buy their albums. . .
