it sort of disappoints me that it sounds quite similar to this. this album is just full-off amazing, though, so i don't mind. i think it's epic in all songs, especially in "six points of fire" where it breaks off towards the end. it's pretty much my favourite post-rock album since slow riot.

Perhaps if you like this you should also check out Aurore Rien (their previous kick ass post-rock band). I wrote a a BLAH review of one of there albums if you want to use that as a starting point.

listening right now...this will prob end up a 4.5...can u rec any similar acts? I'd like both more vocal heavy and less, i haven't listened to much post/ambient stuff so whatever's good i'll take a crack at

the "Where is Your God" part is amazing...one of the best moments this year

Aurore Rien, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in the Sky are all good starting points.

tim hecker would be a good place to go for the ambient side of this. but it's less captivating.

This is really awesome. Radars Over the Ghosts of Chernobyl is one of the best songs I've heard all year.

EC if you're down with the whole post-rock thing you might wanna check out:

The Samuel Jackson Five - Goodbye Melody Mountain

We're From Japan! - Now Breathe

Might be right up your alley. This Message Edited On 11.04.08

giving this album less than a 2 is hard to reason considering everything's just so well placed, for starters.
