Review much? A little short on the details this time but then I realized you were reviewing doom, seeing as all of these bands sound the same........................hahaha jk. I'm actually really digging some of your last reviewed doom rec's (well, from what I've heard on their myspace page). These guys sound worth my time. STOP FILLING UP MY 'MUST LISTEN TO' LIST WITH DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
On a another note, I remember you and Coke having an argument a while back about a Doom section on this website. I'm really starting to lean in the direction of needing one now for sure.

The closing minutes of "Aesthetics of the Grotesque" are some of my favorite in the doom genre. This whole album is awesome. Have you listened to Skepticism - Alloy yet? I'd recommend that over this, and most other doom albums. I have to politely disagree with you here ;) This is one of my more favorite doom albums right now (and yes, I have heard Skepticism a few times now... it's still growing on me).
Good review, of course.

Just ordered this . I love the synth break in 'Saturnine Vastness' followed by the wonderful piano keys.

I keep getting excited and almost clicking on this because I associate it with Anberlin's "Fin".

I will tell you when I get the album. I can't believe how fast it took me to get into these guys as well. Funeral Doom............I'm finally seeing the light (or darkness).

I'm liking this a lot more than I originally did Willie, which is why I came up with the review. It's definitely a good album, but Alloy edges it out. They're sort of different in terms of funeral doom anyway, so comparing them wouldn't be too wise.

That was actually a reason why I decided to do as many doom reviews as possible, because I felt it was severely under represented on the site. And it's a fucking awesome genre too.

It works better for me.this album is hard to listen to, buddy Doom is hard to listen to if you're not in the mood, even for fans of the genre.

yeah, I'm playing it now, it's got this very 'full' sound which is great.

Yeah, I like my funeral doom to have a lot going on, if that makes any sense. Obviously I don't expect it to be chaotic, but I like a lot of different melodies. That is why I also can't get enough of 1000 Funerals.

aren't 1000 funerals from Iran or something? I remember passing them up on some blog once

They are from Iran and they're fucking all about the atmosphere. Layers of keyboard melodies, deep guttural vocals, slow as fuck. It's eerie shit.

good point, I had forgotten about that. Have you been through many of the othre albums? Most of them are pretty average, and the only I haven't listened to is the Wijen Wij one, simply because they have the stupidest name ever.
